The global launch of OnePlus’ next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, is due for next year in January. The device will be available in three striking colors: Arctic Dawn, Midnight Ocean, Black Eclipse. But the first official images show a sleek, refined design which aims at combining neat technology with design.
However, possibly of greater note is the fact that the OnePlus 13 is the first of the lineup to reach IP68 and IP69 ratings, evidenced by its improved protection against dust and water. Flatter sides, and a thinner profile apotheosises the design of its parent, the OnePlus 12. The circular camera island is iconic, but continuity with the brand signature style is maintained.
All four variants of the OnePlus 13 have individual textures. Our Midnight Ocean model first debuts microfiber vegan leather for a premium, scratch resistant finish. In contrast, the Black Eclipse and the Arctic Dawn versions have a marble like texture to the former and a really glossy, really pristine appearance to the latter.
But in reality, the OnePlus 13 is driven by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, giving it top class performance. For power users it will come with up to 24GB of RAM, starting at 256GB of storage. OnePlus’ camera setup on the new device is better than the previous, boasting a triple-camera system enhanced by OnePlus’ ongoing partnership with Hasselblad, this time with less prominent branding.
OnePlus looks to push boundaries with smartphone innovation while continuing to deliver premium and great design in this new flagship. Pricing and more details will be added closer to its launch date.
The OnePlus 13’s impressive specs and nice design promises to leave an impression in the already crowded smartphone market. The highly anticipated device is reportedly going to be released globally by OnePlus, stay tuned for updates.
