Addressing a rally in Chimur in Maharashtra where Assembly elections are set to happen, PM said that the ‘Maha Parivaar (“Family” referring to the Maha Vikas Aghadi of Congress, Shiv Sena UA and NCP). Modi came up with a publicity for a MVA as the biggest players of corruption and accused them of stopping the development of the state.
He noted the existing demand for rail connectivity in the Chandrapur sector to say that “The people of the Chandrapur have been demanding rail connectivity for years, but Congress and Aghadi has never let this happen.” He said the MVA was acting like a barrier to development, adding, “The pace of development in Maharashtra is beyond the capacity of Aghadi. All they have done is to do a PhD in applying the brake on developmental projects… Their good Congress is a double PhD in it. Aghadi means the biggest players of corruption.”
Addressing the election campaign for the BJP partner in the Maharashtra government, Modi’s speech was delivered ahead of the voting for 288-member Maharashtra Assembly on November 20, and the counting of votes is scheduled for November 23.
The prime minister also focused on Congress by using elements of political violence and separatism as main charges. Speaking about the recent events in Jammu and Kashmir he said, “This area has been on fire for the last thirty years because of separatism and terrorism. It was all done vide Article 370 which was practiced by Congress. AS soon as we abolished it we fully integrated Kashmir with India and its constitution and any attempt to change that status would not be acceptable.
PMs comments were more on poll mobilization of BJP core supporters and painting the opposition in negative light, as anti-progress, corrupt and responsible for continuing unrest, policies for instance Article 370.
