The JMM led Jharkhand government has been charge sheeted by Home Minister and BJP’s Amit Shah on Sunday for supporting Bangladeshi infiltration for vote bank politics and messing up with tribal population balance. Addressing an election meeting at Dhalbhumgarh, Shah accused the ruling coalition of letting Bangladeshi immigrants dominate the tribal population especially in Santhal Parganas and Kolhan areas.
Shah assured that any BJP government would enact strong laws ensuring that the tribal’s land is not grabbed by any infiltrators. In Mati, Beti, Roti, the political strategies of the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance are anti-people and dangerous. To this the BJP will not agree,” he stated. He also pledged to take back what he described as tribal land occupied by squatters believed to be incrmbers of the APRC.
Besides, Shah alleged that the JMM is promoting Naxal culture indirectly as per the center’s BJP government almost eliminating Naxalism. He referred to the assembly elections as an opportunity to disband what he referred to as a corrupt JMM system that siphons funds from the poor tribal.
Emphasizing on social justice, Shah talked about BJP’s prospect of applying for 27% of quota for OBCs in Jharkhand without affecting others. In his word, the previous government under the United Progressive Alliance regime allotted a meager Rs 24,000 crore for the welfare of the adivasis, which the current Modi government more than triples by allotting Rs 1.24 crore for the purpose.
Shah had also assured that if the BJP was voted into power, the government would provide MSP for 51 kinds of minor forest produce and offer a minimum paddy price of Rs 3,100 per quintal for which payment would be made within 48 hours. He advised the electorate to vote for BJP in the state assembly polls in its two phases on November 13 and 20 and the outcome will be on November 23.
