Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was stabbed during an attempted robbery at his Bandra residence last month, has addressed concerns about his security. No matter the attack, the actor maintains that he is not necessarily in need of bodyguards or even further security measures.
Saif Ali Khan Rejects the Need for Security
In a conversation with Delhi Times, Saif Ali Khan stated that he has never been in favor of security personnel shadowing him. He emphasized that he does not feel under any direct threat and that the attack was merely an unfortunate incident rather than a targeted assault.
“I’ve never believed in security. They were asked, “Why don’t they have more security?,” and I don’t need it either. I have no desire to carry around one of those things, let alone three of them all at once. I think it would be a nightmare for me. And I still won’t, as I do not believe it is an attack on me. I’m not under threat. None of us are under any kind of threat. This is a mistake that happened,” he said.
Even so, Saif’s family has already made the precautionary security preparations such as installing CCTV cameras at their home and engaging security services.
Ronit Roy’s Security Agency Steps In
Shortly after the attack, reports established [sic] that Ronit Roy’s Ace Security and Protection (AceSqad Security LLP) was to manage the protective security of Saif Ali Khan. The agency, known for providing security to Bollywood’s elite, has previously worked with megastars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
After the event, Ronit Roy was seen at Saif’s home talking to police officers and examining security measures. He was further seen at Lilavati Hospital when Saif was operated upon and at Satguru Sharan Apartments the next day following the attack.
Among the precautionary steps, CCTV cameras have been installed at Saif and Kareena Kapoor’s house in Bandra so that the surveillance is enhanced.
Saif Ali Khan’s Perspective on the Incident
While his family takes extra precautions, Saif remains unshaken. He claims that the event will not alter his daily activity or his world view.
“It’s not going to change my life and it shouldn’t, because that would be… it would be wrong because, I mean, this is not one of those scenarios. This is somebody who is trying to steal something because of desperation,” Saif explained.
He thinks the assault was only an isolated robbery, and nothing to do with a targeted premeditated assault against him or members of his family.
Saif Ali Khan’s Recovery and Upcoming Film
Saif Ali Khan, who was hospitalized at Lilavati Hospital following the attack, has been discharged and is now recovering well. The actor has resumed his professional commitments and is actively promoting his upcoming film, The Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins.
Despite the attack, Saif maintains his stance on personal freedom and continues to engage with the public without excessive security, reaffirming his belief that the unfortunate event should not dictate his way of life.
