The promoted political drama of Ram Charan penned as Game Changer; Kiara Advani streaming worldwide today has been a hubbub among its fans especially in Telangana, where the theatres started from 4 am itself. It is from Shankar who is back on the director’s chair after tasting a bitter pill with Indian 2. Soon, the movie was noticed on social networks, ordinary movie lovers and professionals shared cinema on different platforms.
Whereas some of the fans appreciated the movie as a successfully Hit movie for Shankar and Ram Charan’s intense performance some fans were disturbed by some unrealistic action done in the movie. Film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan tweeted positively about Ram Charan’s performance and said Kiara Advani and Anjali, both performed well. The songs and visuals were also appreciated to the extent that the film’s background score added value to significant scenes.
Yet some of viewers commented that the action scenes have no logic and physics, one of a social network user even created a nickname “Lord Issac Shankar Newton” and asked a question that is all is believable. Finally, another critic complained that after fixing the IAS officer as the ‘real system,’ it was ‘frivolous’ for him to become the Chief Minister. What struck the critic as strange, and which is very un-Shankar-like, was that the director, who is known to be a master of technical finesse, got it very wrong in this movie.
Although the second half of the movie failed to impress the audience, which one viewer said was average and ended the film with an abrupt climax, but the music by Thaman indeed formed a major plus point to the movie. Being made on a budget of roughly ₹450 crore its distribution was in Telugu, Tamil as well as Hindi languages and had the cast including Ram Charan along with S.J. Suryah, Samuthirakani and Srikanth.
