The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has voiced fears what it sees as a clear agenda to eliminate it’s leader Arvind Kejriwal. The allegations were made after a so-called ‘attack’ on Kejriwal during his ‘padyatra’ in Vikaspuri, West Delhi when AAP claims Kejriwal was ‘attacked. Latter AAP leaders accused BJP and said they would ‘sue’ BJP if anything happened to Kejriwal.
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh claimed that ‘BJP goons’ had attacked Kejriwal during the campaign on Saturday in a press conference. Singh chided that the incident reflected police negligence but there was “a serious conspiracy to kill Kejriwal.” He said, “The BJP has become a threat to his life,” He left a condemnation of the police for not taking action which he deemed as bias.
However, Singh added that Kejriwal will go ahead with his campaign as previously scheduled despite the incident. Singh criticized the police by apparent contradiction, that if they were impartial, the aggression was not possible. Singh also added that those involved in the incident have connection with BJP’s youth wing.
Asked whether AAP has lodged a formal police complaint, Singh observed that the police should act on their own volition and said AAP is considering its legal recourse. The BJP leaders laughed off the allegations, stating that for Kejriwal protests are nothing but from the people who are unhappy with water supply.
Singh fighting back said that Kejriwal “will not desist nor refrain from his mission for the people of Delhi”. He said that if anything happens to Kejriwal, “the BJP will be held responsible” and will see that even slight harm to Kejriwal will attract anger from the people of Delhi.
